MC Hammer: test 1

On Friday these hammers arrived via post... I read somewhere how a special puck was used to shrink metal...so I decided to make one. This afternoon I gave it a go ...a 45 min test ......conclusion .............I need more afternoons ......and minutes....

The Commer Comet ....more thinking ahead!

Today I went for a gearbox to use on the Commer TS3 project. I've found an abandoned Nissan Trade Van .... ideal for the job. But before executing all the hard work of getting it out I first went over there to do some measurements. The idea is using it's gearbox and the pressure plate so the spline will always fit...... Bell housing is the main problem...so I was thinking of cutting the original Commer housing, using the part which connects to the engine, and welt the back part of the Nissan's bell housing against it ...... Why do I need the Commer part ...the starter engine is bolted on it ..... After investigating some issues popped up : Commer bell housing is aluminum the Nissan's is cast iron , both pressure plates are as Samson an Goliath (mini and maxi) and the worst one : the Commer flywheel has a central hole part in it which takes even more friction surface missing ....... .......more thinking ahead !
