Belgium Calling.....
Just put the Blighty boys on to the main road to Antwerp so they can safely bring their "Picklington Precision" home.
Unfortunately our first biker build off has already come to an end..... it were an exceptional couple of days!!!!
The English flag is still waving upon the arcade ....the empty spot has been replaced with tons of nice remembrances.
As Barry mentioned a couple of day ago "this shed will always stay a bit Blighty"
"CRACK ON"

It's a go!!!!

Hey guys!
Just letting you know both bikes are in working and riding condition!!!
Pics will follow but first ...a big party with some delicious home-brew brought to us by the Blighty boys !!!!

Koen

Some additional pictures taken by Koen who visited us monday.

Day 3

Albert here....Reporting in from Base Camp.
The hours tick by and progress continues at a pace. Both bikes are now revealing their true qualities. Team LinkySoup are creating a snarling monster machine, our own motorcycle appears to have all the requirements to satisfy an archetypal english gentleman.

The schedule is tight and at the moment our competitors are working into the early hours to try complete on time. Ourselves ? careful planning pre-competition appears to be paying off and we are now entering the final leg with only a few finishing touches to do. (Lets hope there are no last minute hitches, that could spell disaster)

I'll leave the pictures attached to show the position of each team as of 02.a.m. this morning
Must dash......LinkySoup are already encamped down the arcade hard at work....

Belgium calling all you unlucky people who aren't in Balen DC !!

Just uploading some additional pictures from yesterday to get you all up to date on our once in a lifetime experience with the blokes from Blighty.
We're not yet done but certainly not thinking on giving in.

Blighty Boys here.....calling base camp.....

We have successfully set up base camp here in sunny Belgium. I can report that the first day ran to schedule.

As the flag of St George fluttered in the breeze from the roof of the arcade we positioned our key pieces of bike on the build bench. Held firmly with props found on the woodpile the accuracy has to be seen to be believed.

The work on the frame only stopping for another refreshing beer from the on site fridge.

Build.....Beer......Build......Beer.....

I'm not sure at what time the build stopped and the sampling of local beers completely took over......all i can say is 'Crikey it was a long night'

Anyway must go.....The LinkySoup team are all ready in the arcade discussing todays tactics

Over and out

Fully Loaded

'D' Day....3hours and counting....

Albert here with the last entry before the competition commences..

The transporter is fully loaded with all necessary parts and equipment, it's too late to turn back now. Tomorrow we land on foreign soil destination Balen.
Altogether now..lets sing this for the 'Blighty Boys
We'll meet again, don't know where, don't know when
But I know we'll meet again some sunny day
Keep smiling through, just like you always do
Till the blue skies chase the dark clouds far away
Now, won't you please say "Hello" to the folks that I know
Tell them it won't be long
'cause they'd be happy to know that when you saw me go
I was singing this song
We'll meet again, don't know where, don't know when
But I know we'll meet again some sunny day

Scottish McDoorknob

Och Aye ya Oilyracer Sassanaks.

'Ave just completed mi gearshifter.....and it's topped with a Scottish Knob ..
Ah boot it for a quid on ebay. (in fact there was a pair) rummoured to have been found on a scottish beach. Nah I wonder if it was attached to a door ? Maybe from a old wreck ?
Anyhows wi not gonna polish it, it's got years of patina and it would be a shame to remove it.

The shift mechanism took me most of the Bank Holiday weekend to make, and boy did I get in bother from H.W.M.B.O. (her who must be obayed).

Superbly plated in nickel with brass finial I think it was time well spent.

The Blighty Boys are nearly ready.....
